Feminist Journalism for the 99%: The Challenge of Speaking to Everyone
In recent years, with feminist journalism as a tool and political practice, we have untied the rhetorical knots of patriarchy in the media, but there is still much to transform. We have managed to put into words everything we have to denounce and demand, but very little about the world we imagine. In an age of hate and apocalyptic fatigue, it is increasingly difficult to challenge and expand our audience.
What is feminist journalism? How do we build feminist narratives in polarized contexts? This workshop aims to share experiences and best practices. It is an invitation to explore creative ways of telling our stories without being obsessed with the formats of the moment and beyond the traditional agendas and issues of feminism. We want to move the feminist conversation beyond manuals. Using tools from neuroscience and strategic and political communication, we examine our practices and test feminist narratives that reach more people as well as change realities.
