Unter dem Titel „Empowerment Media“ veranstalten COMMIT, FJUM, Frauen*solidarität und Women on Air eine Online-Reihe zu Projektvorstellungen in den Bereichen Konstruktiver Journalismus, Geschlechtergerechtigkeit und Diversität in Medien.

Die Webinare mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten finden in englischer Sprache statt.

How can we as journalists strengthen women’s empowerment through what kind of media projects? What role does community media play in the empowerment of women and marginalized groups? Who does this empowerment serve?

Valerie Ndeingo-Sia Msoka has many examples of empowering media projects and strategies based on her many years of experience in the media sector. Her knowledge ranges from Tanzania to Sudan, Iraq, and Somalia. She will discuss successes and failures with Claudia Dal-Bianco.

Valerie Ndeingo-Sia Msoka co-founder of the Tanzania Media Women’s Association (TAMWA), co-founder of BintiAfrika Konnect online newsletter, chairperson of the Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network (TECMN) and currently Senior Public Information Officer at United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM). She has worked for the global media organisations, BBC and Internews and has experience as media, communications and advocacy executive playing a critical role in shaping the media landscape and social change in Tanzania through media promotion.

Valerie Ndeingo-Sia Msoka ist Mitbegründerin der Tanzania Media Women's Association (TAMWA) und des Online-Newsletters BintiAfrika Konnect, Vorsitzende des Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network (TECMN) und derzeit Senior Public Information Officer bei der United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM). Sie hat für die globalen Medienorganisationen BBC und Internews gearbeitet und verfügt über Erfahrung als Führungskraft in den Bereichen Medien, Kommunikation und Interessenvertretung, die eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Gestaltung der Medienlandschaft und des sozialen Wandels in Tansania durch Medienförderung spielt.
